On January 12th 2010 an earthquake that registered as a 7.0 magnitued hit the island of Haiti by surprise causing massive amounts of damage to the island and its people.
As of January 26th CNN posted the current number of people who have died, been injured, or rescued by Foreign aid.
Death Toll: 150,000
Rescued: only 134 people extimated to be rescued
Injured: 194,000
With the population of Haiti esimated at 9 Million the United States estimates that 3 million were affected by the quake and 1 million have gone missing. Also 800,000 to 1 million people were homeless or in need of temprary shelter. Around 235,000 people have left Haiti since the earthquake.
